Theater for Tweens and Teens at the EQT Bridge Series

The EQT Bridge Series brings the finest theater for tweens and teens to Pittsburgh audiences with productions by national and international theater companies.

The EQT Bridge Series presents theater productions for children and teens. After being introduced to theater through the EQT Children’s Series, the Bridge Series “bridges” the gap between children’s theater and theater for adults. The Bridge series presents challenging, thought-provoking performances for young audiences.

The Bridge Series is designed for tweens and teens ages seven and up. This season’s performances are at the Byham Theater and at the August Wilson Center. Tickets cost $12.00.

The Plays

Walk Two Moons at the Byham Theater November 8th and 9th

Sal and her grandparents are driving from Ohio to Idaho to find her mother, who left the family to find herself. To pass the time, Sal tells the story of her friend, Phoebe, and their many adventures. Walk Two Moons is timeless story of love, loss, abandonment, and healing.

An Elephant in the Garden at the Byham Theater January 17th and 18th

Lizzie and her family are fleeing the bombing of Dresden during World War II with the orphan elephant, Marlene. Lizzie’s mother rescued Marlene from the Zoo. Now the family must make a perilous escape to the countryside. Along the way they meet up with a countess, a school choir, and an Allied officer in a story of love and hope.

Pss Pss at the August Wilson Center April 3rd and 4th

Two “Charlie Chaplin”-like clowns take the audience on a funny, crazy, magical journey. Winner of fifteen international prizes, including the Cirque du Soleil prize.

Emil and the Detectives at the August Wilson Center May 14th through the 18th

Emil joins with a group of friends to catch the thief who has stolen something important to her. This production is part of the EQU Children’s Theater Festival.
