April 4,5,6,11,& 12: Tinkergarten is offering FREE clinics throughout April in South Park. Tinkergarten is an art and play class that teaches an appreciation of nature for children ages 1.5-8. Pre-registration is required for the hour and a half classes. April 6th: Take the Family out for Fun at the Let’s Move Family Dance Party at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater in east Pittsburgh from 1100AM-100PM. April 6-7, 13-14, & 20: The Gemini Children’s Theater presents Sleeping Beauty. This timeless classic is presented for younger audiences with interactive elements and musical numbers. April 6,13,20, & 27: Mariposa Theater for Young Audiences presents Aladdin’s Luck. Can a young street urchin find love with a Princess? For preschool and up. $8 for children under 12, $12 for 12+. April 9 – 14: Come From Away plays at the Benedum for audiences ages 10+. 7000 passengers were stranded in a small town in Newfoundland after the attacks on Spetember 11, 2001. Here their stories. Performances are at 730PM on the 9th, 10th, and 11th, at 800PM on the 12th, at 200PM & 800PM on the 13th, and at 100PM on the 14th. $32-110. April 9: The AMC Waterfront Theater has a Sensory-Friendly Movie. The movie is modified for individuals on the autism spectrum and with sensory-processing disorder. Shazam is featured. April 9: The Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh has a Sensory-Friendly Afternoon from 100-500PM. Exhibits and the environment are modified to accommodate individuals on the autism spectrum or with sensory-processing disorder. April 9: Mingo Park hosts a Family Nature Scavenger Hunt from 630-800PM. Head out to the beauty of Mingo Park with your family (and a basket) to find hints of spring. Pre-registration is required.
