Is the summer heat getting to your family? Are you looking for a place to go cool off and splash around? If you live to the West of Pittsburgh there are a lot of swimming pools for you to explore.
Note: Many pools are cash only for admission and concession stands.
The Settler’s Cabin Wave Pool
Settler’s Cabin has a large wave pool. Just off of the Parkway West heading towards the Airport, the Settlers Cabin Wave Pool is a great place to ride the waves or just cool off. The Pool is zero entry. Waves run in cycles with time in between the cycles when the water is calm. The large Pool is surrounded by artificial turf “grass”. There is a concession area. The Pool can get very crowded on busy days.
The Settler’s Cabin Park Wave Pool will be open June 1st through September 2nd with limited hours near the end of the season.
Flotation devices are NOT ALLOWED. This means no life jackets, no floaties, no water wings. (The only exception is special devices for disabled persons.) Food and drinks are not permitted in the pool area. All food and drinks must be consumed in the concession area. Smoking is not allowed except in designated areas. Masks, snorkels, fins, beach balls, and sunglasses are not permitted. Lockers can be rented for $0.25 a day. Rafts can be rented for $5.00 a day and $6.00 for non-residents. The Settler’s Cabin Wave Pool is open daily from 1130AM-730PM weather permitting. If the Pool hasn’t opened by 200PM then it will not open that day. .
Resident daily rates are $1.00 for children 0-5, $5.00 for youth and juniors 6-17, $6.00 for adults, and $3.00 for seniors 60+. Non-resident daily rates are $1.00 for children 0-5, $6.00 for youth and juniors 6-17, $8.00 for adults, and $4.00 for seniors 60+.

The Clever Park Pool
The Clever Park Pool is in Robinson Township. The Pool has a zero entry shallow end with water features, an open pool that goes to five feet deep with a water slide, and a deep end that is up to 13 feet deep with diving boards. The Pool is kept at 78-80 degrees. There are shade umbrellas scattered around the pool deck. There are changing rooms and a concession stand.
The Pool offers swim classes for ages 3 and up. Three to five year olds can take a Parent and Me class and 4-5 year olds can take a Preschool Class. There is a beginner class for ages 5-7 and an advanced beginner class for ages 6-8. The intermediate class is for 7-9 year olds and the advanced class is for 8-10 year olds. Children under 12 must be with an adult at all times. Children over 12 who are good deep water swimmers do not need adult supervision. An adult must be within arm’s reach of any child in the shallow part of the pool. Food and drinks must be kept in the concession area with exception of water which can be consumed anywhere. Glass bottles are prohibited.

The Pool is open Monday through Saturday from 100AM – 700PM and Sundays from 1200PM – 700PM weather permitting. There is a Christmas in July Pool Party on July 14th 1200PM -700PM. The Pool closes at 400PM on May 27, June 8, July 4, and September 2.
There is a Luau June 22 from 1100AM-700PM with limbo and other activities. On July 14th from 715-845PM there is a a Concert at the Pool with Clem Rolin and the Spirit of Dixie Band. The popular Glow in the Dark Pool Party returns on August 3rd from 730-1000PM

The Wilson Park Pool
The Wilson Park Pool is located in Greentree just off the Parkway West. The Pool is a traditional community pool. There is a large pool with a tube slide, lap lanes and a diving board and a kiddie pool. The pool has a concession stand and changing rooms.
No flotation devices except US Coast Guard approved life jackets. Food must be consumed in the concession area and no outside food is allowed. Proper swimwear is required. Swim diapers must be worn by babies and toddlers.
Daily passes are $5.50 for residents and $12.00 for non-residents. Student passes are $5.00 but non-resident children must be accompanied by a resident. Pool passes for residents are $55 for students K-12, $65 for adults 18+, seniors are free, Family Passes are $150 for a family of 4 plus $6.00 for each additional family member. Non-resident pool passes are $200. Twilight rates for entry after 430PM are $3.00 for students K-12 (non-resident students must be accompanied by a resident), $3.50 for residents and $9.50 for non-residents. Payment is CASH ONLY!
The Wilson Park Pool is open through September 2. Pool hours Weekdays through June 6th are 400-800PM, Weekdays from June 7th are 1200PM-800PM daily weather permitting. On weekdays between August 19-30, the Pool is open from 400PM-800PM. It is open from 1200PM -800PM on weekends.

The Crafton Pool
The Crafton Pool is a community pool in the heart of Crafton. There are two pools, one a traditional community pool with a shallow end and a deeper end. They also have a large spiral water slide. The shallow end has a waterfall mushroom. The Pool also has a splash pad with water features and a small slide. They have changing rooms and a concession stand. The Pool deck is surrounded by a grassy area and there are a few large shade umbrellas.
The Crafton Pool offers swim lessons. Session 2 runs from July 9 – July 19. The cost is $40 for the first child and $25 for each additional child. Instructors will test the child and assign them the appropriate level. Private lessons are also available.
The Pool is open for regular operating hours from June 4th through July 31st on Monday through Saturday from 1200PM – 800PM and Sunday from 100PM – 700PM. From August 1- August 25 the Pool is open Mondays through Saturdays from 1200PM – 700PM and Sundays from 100PM – 700PM. There is a late season schedule August 26 – August 30. Check with the Pool for operational hours. The Pool is open May 25 from 1200-800PM, May 26 and 27 1200PM -700PM and May 28 -30 with limited hours. The Pool is open August 31 from 1200-800PM and September 1st and 2nd from 1200-700PM.
Admission for non-residents is limited to people who live in Ingram, Rosslyn Farms, and Ingram. Daily admission for adults 18+ is $6.00 for residents and $8.00 for non-residents, children 3-17 pay $4.00 for residents and $6.00 for non-residents, seniors 63+ pay $4.00 for residents and $6.00 for non-residents. Children 2 and under are free. Pool passes are available too. Individual passes are Adults – $80 for residents and $105 for non-residents over 3, Seniors – 63+ are $30 for residents and $40 for non-residents, Children under 17 – $70 for residents and $105 for non-residents.
