Disney World is decked out for Halloween, and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is ready to welcome you with special shows, rides, fireworks, and lots and lots of candy!

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) is a Disney World favorite. Magic Kingdom is decorated for the Holiday with plenty of pumpkins, fall leaves, and Disney decorations all day, every day but on special nights during the season, Magic Kingdom comes alive for Halloween Fun. This special event turns all of Magic Kingdom into a Trick-or-Treating Party extravaganza one with plenty of fun for everyone.

Grim Grinning Ghosts and Ghoulies welcome young and old to the festivities. Disney Characters are dressed in special costumes. Guests young and old are encouraged to come dressed for the occasion – and they do! (It is the only time anyone over the age of 13 is allowed to enter a Disney Park in costume and many take full advantage of the privilege.) Dance the night away at two Dance Parties. Head over to Monstropolis In Tomorrowland for the Scream-O-Ween Dance Party. New this year is the Storybook Circus Disney Junior Jam at Storybook Circus in Fantasyland featuring characters from Disney Junior.

Entertainment for the evening is a scary delight. The Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular unites all of the Disney Villains for one spell-binding show. The Boo-to-You Halloween Parade is a spooktacular sensation that marches down Main Street, through Liberty Square, and into Frontierland. The Parade features all of your favorite Disney characters, Disney Villains, and special guests from Magic Kingdom itself, including characters from the Haunted Mansion in an amazing Halloween Parade. (Main Street is usually pretty crowded. Better viewing spots can be found in Frontierland. Guests stake out their spaces hours before the Parade starts and manners are not always in use.) Look up to the sky for the Happy HalloWishes Fireworks show. Disney really knows how to put on a fireworks display and this one is not to be missed with Halloween and Disney Villain themed bursts of light set to a Halloween musical score. (Once again most guests fight to see the Fireworks from Main Street. Liberty Square and the area near Pinocchio’s Restaurant are excellent, and less crowded, alternatives.)

Almost all of Magic Kingdom’s rides are open during MNSSHP, some with Halloween Party additions. The Mad Tea Party has special lighting and effects. Space Mountain has a special musical track. Pirates of the Caribbean has live actors throughout the ride who guide guests on their quest to find Gunpowder Pete before he can steel Captain Jack Sparrow’s Treasure.

With so much going on make sure you don’t forget about the Trick-or-Treating throughout Magic Kingdom. Every guest is handed a bag upon entry and the bag will be filled by the end of the evening. Disney is very generous with their treats! New this year is allergen-free treats. Get the details here: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/events-tours/magic-kingdom/mickeys-not-so-scary-halloween-party/#/drawer=drawerTrickorTreat (FamilyFun tip: Don’t head to the Trick-or-Treat stations right away. Everyone does this and the lines will be long. Enjoy some rides while everyone else is waiting for their treats and then head out later in the evening. There is plenty for everyone, guaranteed. The Trick-or-Treat stations stay open the entire evening. And please be polite. FamilyFunPittsburgh has experienced guests who push and shove even the littlest children out of the way to get to their candy. It is not a pretty sight.)

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is held select nights from August 17th through October 31. The closer to Halloween it gets, the more crowded the Party will be. Dates do sell out. Tickets are $75.00 in advance and $85.00 at the ticket windows (if any are still available) for adults and $70.00 in advance and $80.00 at the ticket window for children 3-9. MNSSHP is an all-age event. For more information, click here: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/events-tours/magic-kingdom/mickeys-not-so-scary-halloween-party/
